My journey into the fine art wasn't solely about personal expression; it was deeply intertwined with a desire to bridge gaps and amplify voices often unheard. This is the genesis of "In Your Hands," an art project dedicated to empowering individuals with Autism and additional needs.
As someone diagnosed with Autism later in life, I've long been captivated by the unique perspectives and creative potential within this community, yet I also recognised the systemic barriers that often hinder our full expression. Traditional art avenues can be rigid and inaccessible, failing to accommodate different communication styles and sensory sensitivities. This discrepancy sparked a burning need within me to create a space where art became a tool for self-discovery, empowerment, and connection. It wasn't about imposing artistic norms, but about facilitating a process where individuals could explore their own authentic narratives, translating their inner worlds onto canvas and through other mediums, completely on their own terms.
"In Your Hands" is, at its heart, an act of advocacy – a belief that every hand, regardless of perceived limitations, holds the power to create, to communicate, and to contribute richly to our world.

I've always found solace in creativity. As someone diagnosed later in life with Autism and ADHD, drawing has been my way of connecting with the world and with myself. It was my constant growing up, whether I was sketching in bustling spaces or quietly illustrating on long journeys.
